Wilf & Karen Kopp
When I went to Brazil in 1999, little did I know that I would be back for the 11th time in 2012. I have been involved in this project from its beginning because of the amazing work that has been done over the last 13 years by the dedicated work of the people at CVM. They've spent many years tirelessly working in finding a way to keep the drug centre open to give young boys (and now older ones as well) the chance to a new life. Many have found a way to get free of terrible addictions they have faced by finding a new life in Christ.
Karen and I are looking forward to this trip, since this may be the conclusion of the building part of the project. We will very likely complete the construction related work, having built a kitchen/dining room, administration building as well as three dormitories and hopefully by the time we're done a laundry facility. This will be sufficient space to operate the centre in an effective manner.I'd like to thank the many donors and volunteers that have contributed and gone to Brazil over the past 13 years and helped build this wonderful facility. May God bless you richly for it.
Even though our founder and visionary for this project Walter Kerber, who has been with our Lord for many years now, is not with us when we get to Brazil, his presence is still very visible, portrayed in many places. It was his dedication and testimony that convinced me to carry on with this project and ensure that it comes to completion.
Our focus from here on in will likely change. We will be sending volunteers to participate in the operation of the centre, as dorm parents, maintenance staff or short term education. Should you be interested in any of these projects let us know.
Karen and I live in Leduc and have four married children and six grandchildren.
We trust that you will stay connected by checking the blog every day to see our project come to a conclusion.
God Bless you for your interest in this project.
Wilf
To God Be The Glory!
